Christopher Young is a American guitarist and composer based in Austin, TX. He has recorded, performed and/or toured with a diverse array of artists including neo-soul producer and songstress Angie Stone, Welsh superstar Shirley Bassey, African bassist and singer Richard Bona, Japanese saxophone pioneer Sadao Watanabe and legendary Japanese rocker Eikichi Yazawa.
Originally from Houston, TX, he attended the High School for the Performing & Visual Arts where he studied jazz under Robert "Doc" Morgan alongside the likes of modern jazz luminaries Jason Moran, Robert Glasper, Eric Harland and Mike Moreno. He then furthered his jazz guitar studies under scholarship at the University of Miami.
Having since lived and travelled all over the world, Christopher's music encompasses influences from East Texas blues and rock to Japanese folk songs, jazz and electronic ambience and is both universal and unique.
